Well start collecting small rechargeable batteries (lithium-ion batteries) from April 1, 2026.

ページID:0170269 更新日:2026年2月25日更新 印刷ページ表示

【Effective from April 1, 2026】 Start of Collection for Small Rechargeable Batteries (Lithium-ion Batteries)

The city will begin collecting lithium-ion batteries and related items to prevent fires.

Fire accidents caused by batteries and other materials have occurred at waste disposal facilities and garbage collection trucks across the country, and there have also been cases of such fire accidents in Niiza City.

If waste collection services become unavailable because of it, it could greatly impact residents.

Therefore, starting April 1, we will begin collecting small rechargeable batteries in this city.
